FAQ

Quick answers.

Coverage, hardware, deployment, support, and pricing — the questions every operator asks before booking a demo.

Coverage

How does cellular coverage work?

Our trackers use LTE-M and NB-IoT cellular networks — the same kind of cellular backbone your phone runs on, with global roaming built in. No store Wi-Fi, no on-premise Bluetooth gateways, no IT involvement required.

As long as the asset is somewhere with cell coverage (which is nearly everywhere outdoors and across most indoor environments), it reports back to the QuickTrack platform. The longest cart we've tracked traveled over 800 miles from its home store before recovery.

What if I have stores in areas with poor cell coverage?

If cell coverage is not available when a tracker is attempting to send data it will "store" the information in an onboard memory. As soon as the tracker is able to send data again, the stored data will all be uploaded.

Hardware

What's the install / retrofit process?

This will depend on the cart. For trackers attached directly to a cart, install takes about 30 seconds to 1 minute per cart. Mount the tracker housing on the cart frame or inside the handle dashboard and the tracker is provisioned. There is not IT related setup. The trackers come out of the box ready to report data.

For VersaCart Titan integration, trackers ship pre-installed at the OEM line, so carts arrive at your store ready to deploy. No wiring, no Wi-Fi onboarding, no IT ticket. Our team can also handle install on-site as part of deployment if your fleet needs it.

Do I need to install gateways or Wi-Fi for tracking?

Not for QuickTrack. Cellular trackers report directly without any on-premise infrastructure. CartTrack indoor analytics typically use a Wireless Gateway per store to read DTx Beacons or Peel and Stick Beacons, but those are battery-powered and require no wiring or network access; just a placement decision.

How long do the batteries last?

DTx Series trackers run from 3 to 4 years on replaceable AA batteries at standard reporting cadence. The Combo Tracker can run up to 5 years on 3 x AA. The Heavy Duty Bluetooth Beacon runs up to 5 years on a CR2450. The Wireless Gateway runs up to 5 years on D-cell Lithium Thionyl Chloride batteries. Battery life varies with reporting frequency and environment.

Deployment

How long until we're live?

Most deployments go live within 4–6 weeks of the kickoff call. That window covers hardware order and shipping, on-site or remote install training, and platform onboarding for your team.

Small fleets, like motorized carts, often launch in under 2 weeks; multi-state rollouts run longer. Our production and onboarding process can scale to meet your schedules.

Do you handle on-site installation?

Yes: STG have a trained installation network across North America that can deploy your fleet directly. We have also designed our solution to be easy to install by store teams. Trackers themselves are simple enough that ongoing additions and replacements can be handled by store staff or your existing retrieval team.

Pricing & support

How is pricing structured?

Pricing is tailored to fleet size, the number of location updates per tracker or fleet-wide, and hardware configuration. We can provide a quote after a short discovery call, typically within 24 hours. Reach out to sales or book a demo to start.

Is there a minimum order size?

We have flexibility on minimum order sizes depending on the deployment plan — from single-store pilots up through national rollouts. Contact our team and we'll work with what you have.
